Associate Division Director (3 Positions)

EPA's Office of Research and Development (ORD) is seeking senior science
managers to fill three positions in the National Risk Management Research
Laboratory (NRMRL) in Cincinnati, Ohio. All three positions will serve as
Associate Division Director for one of the three research Divisions in
Cincinnati

The Associate Division Director reports to the Division Director and
exercises supervisory management responsibilities over staff members; works
with the Division Director to develop and implement a multi-million dollar
research program; assists and advises the Division Director in the
formulation of goals and objectives; promotes understanding and effective
use of all administrative resources and infrastructure critical to the
achievement of the mission, strategic goals, and quality science.

We are seeking candidates to serve as Associate Division Director in three
different research Divisions:

Sustainable Technology Division: Conducts research on sustainability that
includes science-based decision support systems for addressing the
ecological integrity of natural and built environments, and analyzing
environmental, societal and economic impacts of energy production and use
systems such as biofuels, and new materials such as nanotechnology products,
from a life cycle point of view.

Land Remediation and Pollution Control Division: Conducts research at the
basic level as well as bench- and pilot-scales to explore innovative
solutions to current and future pollution problems affecting land and
watersheds. Our programs include field evaluation and demonstration of
innovative technologies, development and testing of municipal waste
management, and remediation technologies and technical support for hazardous
waste sites.

Water Supply and Water Resources Division: Conducts a technically complex
national research program to develop improved methods for drinking water
treatment and distribution, protection of source waters, control of urban
wet weather pollution and environmental management of watersheds.

These positions will be open to any current U.S. citizen. Desirable
qualifications include demonstrated experience and results in leading,
managing, and planning environmental research activities; excellent written
and oral communication skills; and a general understanding of U. S.
environmental laws and policy and implications for conducting research.

Salary and Benefits: Salary is up to the GS-14/15 level, presently $98,699
to $150,930 per year dependent upon qualifications, experience, and other
factors. The selected applicant will be eligible for full benefits
including health and life insurance, retirement, and vacation and sick
leave.
