The AWMA Earth Day Grants – Green Kids & and Companies in NY
This year two schools from the Poughkeepsie area presented how they have used grant funds. Three 8th grade students from St. Martin de Porres School spoke about the nine-year wetland study that their school has undertaken.
Three middle school science students from the Environmental Club at Tabernacle Christian Academy reported on their experiences setting up a school beverage container recycling program using equipment purchased with their AWMA Earth Day Grant award.

Hudson River PCB Dredging Project. Dave King, EPA's Hudson River Project Coordinator, gave an informative update on the dredging project and issues encountered during the initial year of work. Based on the lessons learned, Dave outlined improved methods for the next year.

Green Energy in New York AWMA & AEE Joint Dinner Meeting
The Eastern NY Chapter, Air & Waste Management Association, in conjunction with the Capital District Association of Energy Engineers, hosted '"Planning, Design & Installation of the Dormitory Authority's 40 KW Solar PV array, Operating Experience, and Investigation of Wind Turbine Concepts for Rooftop Installation" presented by DASNY Electrical Engineer Tom Piwinski, PE, LEED AP. A tour was included, and 1 PDH was offered.
