2009 Earth Day Grant School Presentations
At the November 11, 2009, regular ENY Chapter meeting, two schools that received Earth Day Grants gave presentations showing how they used the grant funds.
Tabernacle Christian Academy, Poughkeepsie NY spoke about setting up a recycling program at their school. Grant funds were used to purchase collection containers. The students reported that their efforts sparked a new wave of awareness and involvement among the entire student population.
Three 8th grade students from St. Martin de Porres School in Poughkeepsie spoke about the nine-year wetland study that their school has undertaken. Grant funds were used to purchase a digital video camera for microscopes.
