MASS-A&WMA Technical Conference:
On April 6, 2006, the Mid-Atlantic States Section of the Air & Waste Management Association (MASS-A&WMA) hosted a full-day technical conference, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson, at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, New Jersey.  The conference focused on Consumer Products and Pharmaceuticals in the Environment, Nanotechnology, Voluntary Programs, and Environmental Self Regulation.  More than 100 people attended the event, and we received positive feedback about the quality of speakers, the conference logistics and location, the online (PayPal) registration process, etc.  The conference featured an excellent line-up of speakers, as follows:

Johnson & Johnson sponsored the event, and MASS-A&WMA would like to acknowledge their efforts as part of the overall conference success.  Additionally, MASS-A&WMA would like to acknowledge the vendors that purchased corporate/company booths at the event, including CEM Service Group, RMT, Dixon Environmental, and IES Engineers.  Lastly, MASS-A&WMA would like to thank all of our contacts at NJDEP, U.S. EPA, all of the speakers identified above, and all of the conference attendees.  The event was truly a success because of everyone’s participation. 

Following the lunch break, Dr. James Blando of the NCNJ Chapter coordinated a special scholarship presentation program to honor the 2006 undergraduate scholarship winners.  The 2006 program was the most competitive year to date, with the largest number of applications received.  Three of the five scholarship winners were available to attend this special presentation session, and each recipient gave brief remarks after accepting their award.
